Another selection of car design sketches done over the year… my personal favourite is probably the BMW front 3/4 sketch in the middle of the page. The small sketch below the BMW is actually a very quick proposal for a Lotus Exige.

First “proper” tests in VRED of the Disco Volante project. Still lots of work to be done, but I am happy with the overall shape/direction. More to come
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
I had a little bit of time on my hands and decided to “block” a quick-ish rear 3/4 sketch.
Collage No. 5 – Bespoke Jaguar F-Type Limited Series Exploration. During my tenure at Jaguar, I undertook the challenge of envisioning bespoke and limited-run series inspired by the iconic Lindner Nocker E-Type. The sketch page below shows blending some historic references/features together with the contemporary design language of the era, all on the package of Jaguar F-Type.
A mixture of car design sketches and doodles compiled together… Lotus, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin.
I don’t usually pay huge attention to new movie releases neither what cars are featured in them – especially if you see some of the cars you’ve been part of driven by on a daily basis. However it’s a nice touch to see the Jaguar XF which I was big part of featured in the latest James Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’. Here is a fantastic shot of the XF which looks as dynamic and poised as the design sketches I did in the studio!
My first “proper” iPad Pro sketches. After having it for some years, I never got around to using it for my design work – I usually stick to Wacom Intuos Pro and Photoshop. I must admit I struggle with it and find ProCreate extremely frustrating and fiddly software to work with. The brush settings are eithet too hard or too soft, never right. For something that’s meanth to be a simple app for the iPad – i.e. replace the computer software I find it too bloated with useless settings and. One of the sketches is actually done on Autodesk Sketchbook, which seems more adequate and fit for purpose.
If you want to see more examples of my sketches digital or analogue, please loot at my sketchbook page.
